About the League

The Green Hill Manor Adult Volleyball League includes teams from all acrosss Adamstown, MD. It was started by Mindy Bankey in 2004 as a way to connect with new people, have fun, and get some exercise. We started in 2004 with 4 teams and currently have 21 teams in 2 leagues. The Wednesday night league is known as the "Competitive" league and the Friday night league is "Purely Social."

New for 2009

We will now use "Rally Scoring" i.e. a point is made on every play including side out.
The match will consist of the best of 3 games to 25 points. If the teams decide before the match to play the best of 5 that is fine too.
This year we will continue to play with 2 females minimum, but next year we will change to 3 females minimum.
If there are 3 hits on a side, a female must touch the ball at least once. 1 or 2 hits are okay and a female does not need to the touch the ball in that case.
If the ball touches the net during the serve but goes over that is okay.
No one is allowed to block or attack the serve.

Tournament

The Tournament will be Sunday September 6, 2009. It will be double elimination and all teams are invited to play. Teams will be seeded according to the regular season standings.
